Le Banquet des Saudades [The Longing Banquet] is a meal, an installation, a situation, a collection: the recipe as the reactivation of a saudade and the driving force behind a situation of sharing. In the words of Eduardo Lourenço: “Saudade is a way of retrieve what is irretrievable. It’s a relationship with the past, with the happy past. Unhappy times don’t give rise to ‘saudade’.”
We put out a request for saudade recipes to friends and family. These recipes are generally linked to a more or less distant and personal memory.
Alongside Anne Lise Le Gac, a precious small team of amateur cooks based in France and Alcanena will prepare a selection of those recipes, cook them and arrange them in a Saudades menu.
In an open-access reception area, visitors-turned-guests are invited to sample these courses. The Longing Banquet unfolds slowly, with tidbits and tastings, and comes to an end when its resources are exhausted.

Anne Lise Le Gac
Anne Lise Le Gac lives in Bègles (FR). She studied at the Fine Arts School in Strasbourg and then at the Choreographic Centre of Angers under Emmanuelle Huynh. Anne Lise Le Gac creates and performs conversations, relationships and situations. Among other projects, she composed La Caresse du Coma ft. YOLO, with musician and performer Loto Retina, Grand Mal, with couturier-blogger-dancer Élie Ortis, and Ductus Midi, with artist-musician-maker Arthur Chambry in 2019.
In 2015, she co-founded OKAY CONFIANCE, as a team: a touring performance residency-festival / a celebration of trust, carried by a growing community, which has been held in some institutions and mostly in alternative venues.
Her latest creation is La Caresse du Coma ft. YOLO in collaboration with musician Loto Retina, performed in 2023 at the Parallèle Festival (Marseille) and ImpulsTanz (Vienna). Anne Lise Le Gac is working on a new collaborative and ambulatory performance project, Dopa. She has had support for production and distribution from Parallèle – International Production Pole for Emerging Artistic Practices (Marseille) since 2017, and she will be a member of apap – advancing performing arts project from 2020 to 2024.
